Lay Servant Ministries
The mission of The United Methodist Church is to “make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” The efforts of the Lay Servant Ministries system to help lay servants become “equipped to live out their call to mission and ministry” must result in outcomes that advance that mission.
While we realize that it is God who calls us into faith and discipleship, Lay Servant Ministries can help individuals identify that call. The Book of Discipline, ¶ 127 and 220, direct you to the charge of your ministry as a lay servant.
Robert and Debbie Hicks, co-directors of the Capital District Lay Servant Ministries, are available to discuss these attributes with you, teach and assist you in making that decision to become a lay servant.
