Capital Lay Servants Basic Class — Spanish Version

Capital District has begun to lead Spanish classes for lay servants and invite other District churches who lead worship in Spanish, to join our classes.

In July 2018, our Spanish-speaking Lay Servant team taught its first Basic Lay Servant class with four attendees from Berkeley UMC.  They speak English but prepared themselves with their Spanish heritage to teach and lead others to Christ, at every opportunity.  District Director Debbie Hicks and Certified Lay Servant Toni Hernandez Holder taught the class in Spanish.

At the Berkeley UMC noon Spanish service on July 29, the students and congregation participated in communion and certificates were given to the students, in front of their families.  Future lay servant classes will be posted on the Capital District Lay Servant website, capital-lay-servants.org, with the opportunity to further their education in his Word.  (Article prepared by Toni Holder.)
